Jason Derulo, DJ Goja and Melody share video for ‘Mi Chico’

Jason Derulo, Romanian producer DJ Goja and Brazilian singer Melody have unveiled the official music video for their new collaboration, “Mi Chico,” expanding on a track that had already gained momentum across social media before its full release.

Blending Afro-house production with Latin-inspired rhythms, the single arrives as an upbeat summer release aimed at global audiences, with its accompanying visual emphasizing energetic choreography and an international aesthetic. The release marks another international collaboration between Derulo and Melody following their earlier work together on “Deep Love,” while further elevating DJ Goja’s profile on the global music scene.

The video, filmed in Paris, features a large ensemble of dancers, including French dance duo Les Twins, under the creative direction of filmmaker and choreographer Kevin Bago. Its release follows weeks of online anticipation, fueled by viral dance trends and widespread user-generated videos on platforms such as TikTok, where the song built a significant following ahead of its official debut.

DJ Goja said the song was inspired by his passion for deep house music and Afro-influenced production, adding, “I’ve always loved deep house music and my production has been recently inspired by Afro influences. I wanted to make a song that could touch listeners emotionally while also being something they could dance to, and that’s how ‘Mi Chico’ came to life.” Derulo echoed that enthusiasm, saying, “I’ve been heavily inspired by Afro House recently, and ‘Mi Chico’ was one of those songs that instantly felt special. It’s got that perfect mix of rhythm, emotion, and escapism that makes you want to dance all night.”
