Alex Warren sets August 28 release for sophomore album “WILDCHILD”

Alex Warren announced his second studio album, Wildchild, will be released on August 28 through Atlantic Records.

“WILDCHILD” is set to contain 13 songs, including previously released tracks “Fever Dream” and “Fine Place to Die,” as well as “Passenger.” Warren unveiled the album through a promotional video shared on Instagram that featured actor Kevin James and culminated in the reveal of the album’s title, artwork and release date.

According to Warren, the album title comes from a nickname given to him by his late father. “Growing up, my dad used to call me Wildchild so it’s always had a special meaning and I even have it tattooed on me,” Warren said in a statement. “Creating this album was really healing, therapeutic and a way for me to continue finding out more about myself .. This album really shows where I am in life today and compared to my first album which feels like a man who is broken, this one is a man who’s trying to heal. It’s been really nice to be able to confront those feelings and also be able to share them with the world to give everyone a transparent view into my life.”

To coincide with the announcement, Warren issued his latest single, “Passenger,” a high-energy pop track co-written by the singer and produced by Adam Yaron. An accompanying music video for the song was directed by Blythe Thomas. The new track joins previously distributed singles “Fever Dream” and “Fine Place To Die,” both of which are confirmed for the final tracklist.

Warren currently on the road with the North American leg of his Finding Family on the Road world tour, with the concert series set to extend to international dates in Asia and Australia later this year.
