Miley Cyrus is entering a new chapter under a modified professional name while preparing to release her 10th studio album, “Bass Persuades,” on Sept. 18 through Atlantic Records. The singer is now being billed professionally simply as ‘Miley,’ following recent changes to her social media and official online presence.
Cyrus described the new record in an Instagram announcement as an exploration of music’s emotional reach, writing: “Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.”
‘Bass Persuades’ is the follow-up to Miley’s 2025 album “Something Beautiful,” and represents another quick turn in Cyrus’ prolific run of projects. Since that record, she has released a deluxe edition featuring David Byrne and Lindsey Buckingham, contributed music to James Cameron’s “Avatar: Fire and Ash” and participated in a “Hannah Montana” 20th anniversary special.
Miley will introduce her new project with two performances at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 16 and 18. The concerts, billed as “Miley: Bass Persuades – Live at the Hollywood Bowl,” will feature Model/Actriz as the opening act and mark her first performances at the iconic venue. The announcement from Miley arrives shortly after the death of her godmother, the legendary Dolly Parton, who died Aug. 25 at age 80. Cyrus recently paid tribute to Parton, writing: “The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts. what I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis. 
I will always love her and want to make her proud. My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things.”
