Lewis Capaldi will give fans around the world a front-row seat to the biggest headline concerts of his career by livestreaming the first of his two sold-out performances at London’s BST Hyde Park on July 11. The free broadcast, titled “Lewis Capaldi: Live at American Express presents BST Hyde Park,” will stream exclusively on YouTube beginning at 8:45 p.m. BST, allowing audiences to watch the show without a paywall. Organizers said the production will feature 26 cameras, including drone footage, and will open with a specially created 10-minute short film directed by creative director Rory Dewar. After the live event, the full performance will remain available to watch on YouTube.
The Hyde Park concerts, each expected to draw about 65,000 fans, mark a milestone in Capaldi’s return to large-scale touring following his recent comeback to live performances. The Scottish singer-songwriter’s summer schedule includes a UK and Ireland headline tour as well as major festival appearances across Europe, with the Hyde Park dates representing his largest headline shows to date. The July 11 lineup also features special guests including Conan Gray, The Vaccines and Jacob Alon, as Capaldi continues a highly anticipated return that has reunited him with audiences after time away from touring.
Capaldi recently released the video for ‘Stay Love,’ directed by Sam Nutt and Jack Lightfoot. The touching video for Stay Love chronicles a day in the life of a young man providing around-the-clock primary care for his aging father. See the visual- HERE.
Coinciding with the video’s theme, Capaldi will also be holding a special free concert for primary caregivers and their guests at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on July 28th in partnership with UK charity Carers Trust, who work to transform the lives of unpaid carers across the UK, and disabled awareness charity ABLE2UK, which provides exclusive experiences for disabled people. For the exclusive event, and for the first of its kind, the London venue will be made fully accessible to not only meet the needs of the night’s guests but also ensure that they are given priority.
‘Stay Love’ appears on Capaldi’s EP Live From North America, the follow up to his Survive Deluxe EP. It features recordings captured during his biggest North American tour to date. Capaldi had surprised fans with the release, with the four-track collection featuring live versions of Pointless, Hollywood, Forget Me, and Stay Love. Each performance was recorded at a different stop on the tour, highlighting some of the singer’s most memorable recent shows. The reworked version of Pointless was captured during Capaldi’s headline performance at Madison Square Garden, while Stay Love was recorded during his two-night run at Red Rocks Amphitheater; Hollywood was recorded from the Hollywood Bowl; and the live version of Forget Me captures fans singing along at Scotiabank Arena. Capaldi shared: “Had the best tour of my life in North America and felt like I wanted to commemorate it somehow. Took some live recordings from some of my favourite shows and wanted to get them out for those of you that couldn’t be there ..”
