Kelly Clarkson has released her new single, “I’d Be Lyin’,” marking her first new music of 2026 and her first release since 2025’s “Where Have You Been.” The release comes alongside the latest run of Clarkson’s “Studio Sessions” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, with multiple performances through mid-August.
Clarkson said the song centers on the frustration of having words misunderstood, explaining that telling people only what they want to hear would mean “I’d Be Lyin’.” She described the verses as being inspired by Prince, featuring a punchy, rhythmic style before expanding into a pop-rock chorus reminiscent of the empowering anthems that have defined much of her career. Clarkson also called the track “very sarcastic” and said it was one of the most enjoyable songs she has recorded.
The single is expected to serve as the lead release from Clarkson’s forthcoming 11th studio album, although additional details have not yet been announced. It follows her 2023 album Chemistry, which explored the emotional aftermath of her divorce, and continues her return to recording after stepping away from Atlantic Records and releasing music independently.
The launch comes during a busy period for the Grammy-winning singer. Clarkson is preparing to conclude The Kelly Clarkson Show after its seventh season later this year while also returning as a coach for Season 30 of The Voice.
