Ellie Goulding has announced her sixth studio album, I Know Too Much, while unveiling the new single “4 Seasons,” offering fans another glimpse of the singer-songwriter’s first full-length project since 2023’s Higher Than Heaven. The 10-track album is scheduled for release Sept. 4 and continues a new creative chapter that Goulding says was shaped by introspection and personal growth.
“4 Seasons” follows lead single “Black Prada Dress,” expanding on the emotional themes that define the upcoming record. Goulding has described the album as a deeply personal body of work, explaining that creating it felt like “journalling through music” while exploring the idea that “maybe we can know too much.” The British pop star collaborated extensively with Canadian producer and multi-instrumentalist Jack Rochon, with the pair reportedly writing and recording hundreds of songs before narrowing the project to its final track list.
The album marks a stylistic shift from the dance-pop sound of Higher Than Heaven, leaning instead toward more intimate songwriting while retaining Goulding’s signature electronic influences. “4 Seasons” continues that direction, pairing atmospheric production with vulnerable lyrics that reflect on relationships, change and the passage of time.
Goulding, whose career includes multiple U.K. No. 1 singles and albums, has said the freedom to experiment without creative expectations helped shape I Know Too Much into one of her most personal releases. With “4 Seasons” now available, the singer continues the rollout toward the Sept. 4 release, giving listeners another preview of an album that reflects a more candid and emotionally focused phase of her career.
